The traditional card game of Callbreak has been given a modern twist with the addition of Callbreak Multiplayer. This exciting feature allows players to compete against each other in real time, adding a new level of excitement to the game.
UNDERSTANDING THE RULES OF THE GAME
Callbreak Multiplayer requires four players and a standard deck of 52 playing cards. Each player has five shots to use during the game. Before the game begins, the first dealer is chosen and the direction card is dealt. The game progresses with each player taking turns drawing cards from the deck. The order in which players draw their cards determines who will be the first dealer and the direction in which the game will proceed. The dealer will switch positions with their opponent at the start of the next round, continuing the counterclockwise rotation.
THE MAJORITY WINS
At the start of each round, the dealer passes the deck clockwise around the table, ensuring that no player can see another player’s hand. This continues until each player has a 13-card hand.
HIGH-STAKES BIDDING
In order to have a positive score at the end of the game, each player must win rounds. This begins with the player whose bid matches the dealer’s for a certain number of tricks. In Callbreak, the spade suit is considered the most powerful.
If a player is unable to match the dealer’s bid, they must play an ace. If that is not possible, they can play any card they choose. It is important for players to try and play their highest cards in order to increase their chances of winning the trick.
At the start of each round, the first trick is led by the player to the dealer’s right using any card from any suit. This sets the template for the rest of the players to follow. When it is their turn, players go around the table counterclockwise. If a spade is played, the player with the highest card of that suit wins the trick. If no spades are played, the player with the highest card of the same suit wins the trick. The player with the highest score at the end of each round is declared the winner.
TIPS FOR A HIGH SCORE
A player’s score is equal to their bid amount if they successfully take the number of tricks they bid on. If a player takes more tricks than they bid, they receive an additional 0.1 points for each extra trick. However, if they are unable to complete their required bid, points will be deducted. After the first four rounds, the players’ scores are tallied and used to set the goals for the fifth and final round. Once the final round is completed, the winner and second-place finisher are announced.
CHARACTERISTICS THAT SET PLAYERS APART
The game of Callbreak is made even more enjoyable with its user-friendly interface that allows players to easily drag and drop cards. The game also features a single-player mode with bots that have improved artificial intelligence. There are two modes available: random online multiplayer and multiplayer with Facebook friends.
